‘Simply miraculous!’ That’s how I describe the transformation of my ‘difficult’ horse during the 9 months that I have now known and worked with Dominique. Her calm, classical approach which focuses at all times on creating harmony between horse and rider, is a breath of fresh air, and has enabled us not only to see amazing results really quickly but also to really enjoy our riding again. Dominique has completely re-trained my tense and sensitive horse to relax and trust her, and to start to work softly and correctly for the first time. Not only is Dominique an outstanding horsewoman, she is also is an excellent communicator with the people as well as the horses that she trains. She is always positive and encouraging and possesses that rare ability to teach ‘feel’ that has enabled me to form a partnership with my horse in my dressage riding. In the fantastic facilities, care and atmosphere of Highbrook stables, Dominique has definitely worked a miracle and I look forward to her continuing training and support into the future.
I’ve had my horse ‘Duncan’ for about 18 months now and been training with Dominique for the last 10 months. Since then we’ve really started to improve with 2 wins at Novice affiliated and numerous placings. Dominique has put a huge amount of effort into improving my position and helping me to get the best out of Duncan. She is always so positive and I come away from my training sessions motivated and full of confidence.
I was delighted with the help Dominique provided with my young Selle Francais, River. Initially, he was very nervous when ridden, and would rush around uncontrollably. It was very difficult to know how to progress with him. Under her expert guidance, we completely rebroke him, via twice weekly sessions. He is now calm and relaxed, and progressing well with his flatwork and jumping. A miracle!
I would recommend Dominique for her calm and consistent approach. She is also very friendly and approachable, and has a very clear understanding of what you need to work on with your horse at each stage, and why.
Dominique's professional and sympathetic methods have transformed my riding and my horse! Having myself been confused with different trainers' "quick fix" teaching it has been so refreshing to enjoy the harmony with my mare that Dominique's classical training produces. I am also pleased to pass this clear instruction on to the many children that I teach at my riding school.
